Hello
Thank you for breeding such a great dog. We have had Fischer for almost a year and she is doing great. She has turned into a really good dog. I had no intentions of running any hunt tests but she is doing so well I might just start. She is marking really well and takes hand signals pretty good too. Sometimes it is hard to get her attention when she is on longer retrieves, so we are working on that.
Thank you again, I can't wait for her first season in the duck blind this fall.

Dom & Norene,
Sorry for not sending updates on 'Nordoms Rock Hard Ten' (Rocky), but I've been quite busy.
Rocky, now 8 months and 71 lbs., is from Rebel and Coopers second litter and has been the best tempered pup I've owned. Rocky is very friendly around people and dogs and loves his daily trips to the dog park.
Rocky has finished his basic obedience training and will start basic retriever training in 2 weeks. He is, as Dom said 'birdy'. Loves chasing the doves that land in the yard and when flights of resident geese fly over, one thinks that they are watching a clip from the Excorist at the way he twists and turns his
head to track those birds.
Rocky retrieves everything from balls to feathered dummies and doesn't clamp down or chew them on the way back, he appears to have a soft mouth. He is not possessive, have never seen a lip curl, nor heard a growl.
But he does alert us when he sees a stranger in the area.
Got a new digital camera with pictures, and as soon as I figure out how to send them in the correct format I'll pass them along.
So thanks for breeding and picking a great pup and I'll keep you posted on his progress.
Gene

Hi Dom and Norene,
I was on your website this AM and saw Dancer and her progress...wow. She is
gorgeous besides. Well, Jake is a "bit" behind but yesterday he found out how
much he likes to do water retrieves. We have taken him to the Edmonds
waterfront dog park a few times this summer. He has splashed in the water but
has been more interested in the other dogs, their owners, seaweed (ugh), etc.
Yesterday, though, he did his first water retrieve and he didn't want to stop.
For the first time the other dogs were meaningless to him. What a treat to
watch, and yes we were proud parents...finally.
Kudos to you and Gerry on recent accomplishments. Most impressive. When we
watched Rebel do his one leg perfectly at the Pepper Farm, and the ovation he
received, we both got lumps in our throat. No lab we saw came close to his
(and your) performance. We kept telling Jake, "that's your daddy".
Recently I met Phil Weber at a field I take Jake to for exercise. He saw Jake
and told me he knew about Nordom (high praise). In fact his father had a
Nordom...I believe he said his name was Splash. Phil comes with his lab,
Kirby, getting him ready for hunting season. Jake absolutely goes fruitcake
when he sees Phil and his bucket of retrieve goodies. It is most interesting.
Jake is friendly with everyone but when he sees Phil there is magic. I can't
control his enthusiasm.
We adore Jake. Thank you, again.
Karen

Hi Dom and Norene,
I was checking your website to see who Rusty looked like, mom or dad and found your accolade page. He looks like his siblings! He still, however, is the runt weighing only 52 pounds but he is brilliant and full of heart. He is very smart. Training him in obedience and agility is a pleasure as he responds so quickly. He is the fastest swimmer at the park and the most helpful. Sometimes owners throw balls in the water to encourage their dogs and when they won’t go we send Rusty to rescue the ball. He has bonded tightly with everyone in the family including the one who has only been home for break from college. He guards us. I want you know how much I appreciated the puppy reunion sessions. I learned so much. The kennel “wait” was a big help and Rusty can wait quite nicely. We practice at mealtime and he does not touch his food until I tell him eat. He doesn’t need to run out first thing in the morning anymore but he loves to snuggle for few minutes first. We haven’t had any problems making him a house dog. He runs when he’s outside but loves the family room sofa for his afternoon nap. He knows exactly how to ask to go outside. I’ve attached some pictures from the park today and if I remember to take the camera to agility tomorrow I will send pictures of him on the obstacle course. He has done puppy pre-agility, agility 101 and is now in agility 102. He starts intermediate obedience in May.
Thanks so much,
Sandy
