Dom and Norene,
Hope everyone is doing well!
Just wanted to send you a picture of Halle and my son, Carson, on his first duck hunt. Halle has been performing well on actual hunts. She has not refused or missed a retrieve yet.......keep in mind I don't actually hit that many birds!

Dear Dom and Norene,

Dandy Dan is 8 months old now and is doing very well on his training. He is still like a puppy and loves to play when we come home from hunting. Your excellent breeding program sure shows in his ability to learn new things quickly. His obedience training has been very easy compared to other dog I have trained. He is eager to please. We continue to work on his retrieving of live or wounded birds, He is so soft mouthed that he drops the birds. He is still growing but I think he will be closer to COPPER size, that is what I wanted. We have been to eastern Washington pheasant hunting 5 times now and he gets better each time. As the season gets longer the birds get smarter but they are no match for NORDOM DANDY DAN. I think Dan would make a good hunt test retriever but I am afraid it would take longer to train me than him. I sent a picture of a bird he spent 20 minutes tracking down and flushing Thanks Giving morning.
Regards, Rick

Dom and Norene,
Just wanted to send some recent hunting photo's of Halle to you....

These were taken last week when we started getting ice on the standing water around Snohomish. She was a little hesitant at first to get in and break the ice....but a couple "back" commands and some vitamin "E" and she found her confidence. After the first retrieve she had obviously created a path through the ice so the rest of the water retrieves were easy. The ducks that were dropped over us landed in the taller shrubbery area but she managed to come up with all the ducks.
She as also shown good patience with birds diving on her, she stays in the area a long time waiting for them to resurface. If fact, she had another one just this morning in ebey slough. I really need to learn to "can" these birds up better.
She seems to really enjoy hunting this year. She is doing great......turning out to be a great hunting partner.
Hope all is well with everyone!
Doug

Dom and Norene,

Just a quick note to let you know that Rowdy has passed two legs of his junior hunter. The first was the Sand and Sage test at Scootney earlier this year. The second was this last weekend at the Idaho Retriever Club hunt test at Fruitland Idaho. He is a happy dog, weighs 55 lbs, loves to run and jump and is doing well with his training. Attached are a couple of pics of him and some birds.

Henry
