Many dog Breeders feel that a female contributes 60% of what a pup is..........thus the qualities of a dam are just as important as the sire! Some people only look to what the sire of a litter has to offer....but in reality a dam should meet the same requirements that one looks for in a stud.......those being: she should be healthy & athletic, have a high retrieving desire, biddable & possess the qualities which make for a family companion such as a good temperament,; likes people, children and gets along with other dogs. We strive for our bitches to meet that criteria.
